So I've been quiet, but lots has been going on. Here's a little summary of the high points:
- Building and testing packages for KDE 3.4.0.
- Some discussion has been going on about making stable versions of the Win32 and Qt/Mac ports of KDE a goal for KDE 4.0.
- Working on updating the Fink Mono packages to 1.1.4.
- Been doing lots of cool Fink (core) development, including Growl and QuickSilver support.
I'm sure there's more I'm forgetting, but there's definitely stuff going on. I've also submitted a proposal to speak at OSCON about Fink this year. I'll know pretty soon whether it was accepted or not. The goal is to talk some about how Fink works, how to use it, and what's been going on in the code base, now that we have some pretty regular contributors working on the Fink core.

I've released KDE 3.3.2 to Fink unstable (both 10.2-gcc3.3 and 10.3).
These packages include a number of bugfixes on top of what is listed in the general KDE 3.3.2 change log, including:
- A fix for a regression from KDE 3.2 that causes massive slowdown in library-loading upon startup of KDE or KDE apps.
- A modification to the esound aRts driver to hopefully make it work once enabled.
- Lots of build dependency fixes.
This release is seeming to be clean enough to be a candidate for release to Fink stable. Please, if you have success (or problems!) let me know so I can get this in stable.

I've got kdelibs built, and kdebase building. Once I've got those finished, I'll start updating the wiki with info on how to build things, get them, and so on. Woot!
Oh, and here's a little teaser:

You may have noticed the "Recent Commits" stuff on the left side of the page; you'll see that there's a "KDE/Mac" one as well. Yes, I am working on KDE/Mac again. 😉
You can see the subversion repository, it's basically a container for all the support stuff KDE wants, and the things from the previous CVS repo.
The goal is to push patches to KDE HEAD as quickly as possible, so I'm not gonna bother tracking the real KDE trees in here, I'll just keep patches. Stay tuned, I'll let you know when I've got something useful. =)

The KMail fix is in the latest unstable kdepim3 -- this was one of the last blockers for me to start considering moving a modern KDE to stable (yay!)
There are a few other minor bugs, but nothing that matters too terribly much. Hopefully soon I can move that monstrocity over.
Whoohoo!

Got lots more to update you on as far as Fink changes...
- lots of KDE updates (including KOffice)
- bugfixes to a couple of 10.2-gcc3.3 packages (xscreensaver, daemonic, vim)
- new bash-completion (20041017)
- fixes to base-files
- new distcc (2.18.1)
- new libidn (0.5.10)
- reworked the Fink RSS news feed to validate with i18n
- new kxmleditor (1.1.3)
I'm testing a fix for kmail in kdepim3 right now (also, an update to libmal), and when I'm done with that, I'm caught up with most of the fink stuff that really matters to me, so I can start crackin' on KDE/Mac again. Woot!

Minor updates and Tiger fixes for a number of packages:
- libmath++
- wv2
- KDE
- automake 1.9.3 (and updated automake* and libtool14 from 10.3 to 10.2-gcc3.3)
- glib2 (tiger fix)
- libtiff (tiger fix)
- tetex (tiger fix)
- graphviz (update and tiger fix)
I'm slowly working my way through being able to build KDE on tiger with gcc4. Most of the issues I've run into have been very minor, let's hope it stays that way. 😉

First, if you're a U.S. citizen, get out there and vote!
Second, been doing a lot of work getting things cleaned up package-wise in Fink. I've worked through a lot of bugs and am doing final testing on fixes for the KDE packages that some folks have had problems with.
Coming down the pipe:
- more tiger fixes
- PostgreSQL 8.0 (beta) + PostGIS
- KDE/Mac work
- ???
- PROFIT!

I've finally got qt3 playing nice with everyone's systems (as far as I can tell), so it's time to tackle some of the KDE bugs that are showing up.
I got OpenNMS release to 10.3 unstable finally; I'm doing a test build right now to see if it can be released to 10.2-gcc3.3 as well, but I can't imagine why it would have any OS-specific issues.
Minor point-releases of PostgreSQL are also on the way, as soon as I finish some 10.2 builds, and a tomcat update as well.
Also, I added simple Growl support to Fink HEAD, so it will notify you when packages are installed/removed for those long builds...

I've finally got KDE 3.3.1 released. There's still work to do (updating some apps, getting kdevelop updated, etc.) but it should be good for a first run.
Phear!
